Beech Narrows is the name of the rapids in the background. This location is a beautiful spot on the lower Rockcastle River near Beech Creek. This part of the Rockcastle River is a protected Kentucky Wild River. The remoteness of this area probably means it is most often viewed by whitewater kayakers. The kayaking season here runs from late fall to midsummer, and offers up to class IV adventures. This shot was taken in early October during a dry period.
