Magical Mystery Tour
I first viewed this waterfall from a distance, high above the branch. Something seemed odd. The water disappeared after going over the waterfall. After taking a closer look, I noticed that the water dropped into a deep hole behind the falls. From that point, the branch seemed to be taking an underground "magical mystery tour" to some unknown location. After some exploration I found the stream passing underneath a beautiful little doorway shaped false arch. I walked through what I called Flat Branch False Bridge, and continued hiking upstream (though a narrow channel). Then I saw where the branch emerged from its underground passageway, at the base of a rock shelter. This is Flat Branch Falls 3 in McCreary County, Kentucky.
