Nature's Bounty

This waterfall is on Cotton Patch Creek in McCreary County. Coal is also present at this location. A water source, coal and a forest full of game animals would've made this a prized spot for someone in an earlier time. There is a mine shaft behind the waterfall at the back of the rock shelter. A local resident mined the coal seam here for his own use. He was well equipped for the task since his day job was working as a miner. He reportedly walked several miles to work each day, and never arrived late.
