Arch With A View
Imagine finding a double arch standing tall above the forest floor. Well, that's the illusion I was hoping to create (by showing as much foreground as possible) in this vertical panorama. There's really only one arch, Hopewell Arch in Red River Gorge. The bottom opening is the entrance to a rock shelter. This panorama covers the area from the ground at the back of the rock shelter to the top of the rock shelter. This pristine off-trail area is seldom visited, and for good reason. I think most people would describe the required scramble up to the rock shelter as difficult and a bit risky. Thankfully, those who have made the effort to visit seem to have left nothing but footprints.
