Nature's Rush Hour

This is Marcus Cascades (Middle and Lower) in McCreary County. This location is slightly upstream from the waterfall in the following photograph.

The water picks up a lot of speed here as it careens further down into a mini grand canyon. This is nature's version of merging traffic lanes at rush hour. Here the sound of blaring horns is replaced by the soothing sounds of moving water. The heat from the pavement is replaced by a cooling mist. Crunched fenders are replaced by intricate and beautiful patterns made by merging water channels. I'll take nature's version of rush hour any day!
